Hi, I'm Michèle — I started my creative career as a graphic designer, now with over 8 years experience, and found that I was looking for a new way to explore my creativity while making a difference, embarking on a journey using my natural empathy to solve problems and find meaningful and beautiful solutions. My curiosity lends well to the research, process and learnings of UX design, and in my design skills lie experience with clients, problem solving, deadlines and creating aesthetically pleasing results. 

 

Over the years I've taken several courses to keep pushing myself forward — teaching myself animation, designing fonts, strengthening my marketing skills, and then coming across the UX course at the UX Design Institute meant that I could learn the process from A to Z, building on what I already know, allowing myself to dive deeper and pursue this new field of design as the next step in my career.

 

I was born on a small island called Curaçao in the Caribbean and lived there for twelve years before moving to England. I grew up with a mix of cultures, from friends on the island to my family — a Dutch, Brazilian, and English mix. Living in these two places and taking in differences within architecture, nature, art, music, and people has made me creatively curious, which blends into my design practice and work.

 

When I'm not designing I love travelling and keeping active. Scuba diving and surfing are some of my favourite things to do while I'm away, and at home I run half marathons, play tennis and volleyball, and try out new activities when they come my way.
